At St Peter’s science is taught through a spiral curriculum model, where substantive knowledge is frequently revisited and deepened and children are taught to apply this knowledge to their increasing “Working Scientifically” skills.

• Provides a knowledge rich curriculum which covers the 3 domains of biology, chemistry, and physics.
• Gives children opportunities to be curious, ask questions and explore practically.
• Challenges children to think deeply, build on prior learning and make links in their understanding.
• Encourages children to use subject specific, scientific language to explain their thinking and deepen their understanding. 
• Is planned to enable children to connect significant scientific content over time, with increasing expertise and knowledge.
